UNIT 1 & 2
THREATS, ATTACKS, AND VULNERABILITIES: Chapters 1, 4-11
Indicators of compromise and Types of Malwares • Types of attacks • Threat actor types and attributes • Explain penetration testing concepts • Explain vulnerability scanning concepts • Explain the impact associated with vulnerabilities.
UNIT 3 & 4
ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN: Chapters 1-11
Frameworks, Best Practices and Secure config guides • Secure Network Architecture Concepts (Zones, Tunneling, Segmentation, SDN • Secure System Design (Hardware, OS, Peripherals) • Secure Staging Deployment Concepts • Security implications of embedded systems •Secure application development and deployment concepts •Cloud and Virtualization Concepts •Risk Mitigation strategies: Resiliency and automation • Importance of physical security controls.
UNIT 5 & 6
IMPLEMENTATION: Chapter 1-7,9,10
Secure protocols • Application security solutions • Secure network designs • Install and configure wireless security setting • Secure mobile solutions • Apply cybersecurity solutions to the cloud • Identity and account management controls • Authentication, and authorization solutions • Implement public key infrastructure.
UNIT 7 & 8
OPERATIONS AND INCIDENT RESPONSE: Chapter 1-3,5-11
Appropriate tool to assess organizational security • Summarize policies, processes, and procedures for incident response • Utilize data sources to support investigation • Apply mitigation techniques • Key aspects of digital forensics.
UNIT 9 & 10
GOVERANCE, RISK, AND COMPLIANCE: Chapter 1-2,5,7-9,11
Compare and contrast various types of controls • Frameworks that impact organizational security posture • Risk management processes and concepts • Explain sensitive data concepts in relation to security.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need prior IT experience?
You do need a basic familiarity with technology. We provide an introductory class to get you up to the level you need to be to start the class called IT Fundamentals.
What materials do I need for the course?
CompTIA Security+ Get Certified Get Ahead: SY0-701 Study Guide.
A computer with a working microphone and video camera is mandatory for the course.
Additionally, any materials you use to take notes or aid in your concentration are a great help!

Will I need to pass a personal interview?
Yes. A personal interview allows us to go over your overall educational journey, and ensure that you would be a great fit for our positive and collaborative environment and that we are a great fit for you!
Are classes in person or online? What are the options for virtual learning?
We offer a hybrid environment meaning you can take the class in person or remote using the Microsoft Teams platform.
Keep in mind if you live in the state of Maryland, you are required to take your final accreditation exam in person.
